Annual Design Contest for Final Year Chemical Engineering Students in Nigerian Universities

Heads of Chemical Engineering Departments in the nation’s Universities are invited to put in place machinery to present the best student design project of their most recent graduating class  that meets the above criteria  for assessment. for assessment. The Design Project Report Entries should be accompanied by a separate summary report formatted as follows:

1. Introduction
2. Relevance to Local needs
3. Process Design/Selection
4. Materials and Energy balance
5. Equipment Design/Sizing
6. Piping/Instrumentation
7. Mechanical Design
8. Plant location
9. Plant/Site Layout
10. Economic Analysis
11. Safety
12. Recommendations

Note: The summary is expected to be between 3 and 10 type-written pages (single spaced on A4 paper). The prizes are N100,000.00 and a plaque for the best entry; N75,000.00 and a plaque for second best; and N50,000.00 (and a plaque) for the third best entry.

Checklist for entry:

• Three (3) hard copies of the Project Report
• Three (3) hard copies of Project Summary
• A soft copy of the Report Summary and Complete Report (on CD or Flash drive)
